Our elementary credential program prepares candidates to teach in linguistically and culturally diverse K-6 classrooms. You will work with faculty who have developed collaborative relationships with resident teachers who jointly provide guidance and mentoring throughout your year-long credential program. We also offer an optional Bilingual Cross Cultural Language and Academic Development (BCLAD) emphasis.
Credential/MA Coursework and Requirements
First Year Courses
The coursework during the first year is focused and intensive, enabling you to complete the courses and student-teaching component required for the Teaching Credential in three academic quarters.

Second Year Courses (Completion of Master of Arts in Education)
The second year will be dedicated to working within the professional classroom setting, identifying and researching practical issues and approaching them from an informed analytical viewpoint. You will take courses on a part-time basis, allowing you to work in your professional field as a full-time teacher.
