Our teacher education preparation is characterized by excellent faculty who help students bridge research and practice. You will learn together in small cohorts of students to better prepare yourself for leadership among your peers. In fact, the program's culture is one that encourages close interactions between each teacher candidate and teacher education faculty, as well as among the teacher candidates of each year's class. Additional coursework leading to the Master's degree introduces the integration of classroom inquiry into teaching practice, making teachers more informed and pro-active practitioners.
You'll experience:
- Small learning groups for better student-teacher relationships
- Highly supportive teacher education faculty
- Help in selecting your student teaching placement
- Long-standing partnerships with area school districts
- An opportunity to complete a Master of Arts degree and the credential in five quarters
We offer an elementary multiple subject credential or a secondary (7-12) single subject credential in the following subjects:
- English
- Mathematics
- Social Science
- Science (biology, chemistry, geo-science, physics)
- Agricultural Education
- Foreign Language (Spanish)
We also provide an opportunity to obtain both a Master of Arts in Education degree AND a Multiple Subject or Single Subject Credential with a BCLAD (Bilingual Cross Cultural Language and Academic Development) emphasis.
