Become a Teacher at UC Davis

You can earn an elementary multiple subject credential or a secondary (7-12) single subject credential in the following subjects: English, mathematics, social science, science (biology, chemistry, geo-science, physics), agricultural education and foreign language (Spanish). We also provide an opportunity to obtain both a Master of Arts in Education degree AND a Multiple Subject or Single Subject Credential with a BCLAD (Bilingual Cross Cultural Language and Academic Development) emphasis.

We offer:

  • Extensive student teaching in diverse regional public schools
  • Coursework using a theoretical-practical approach to the teaching-learning process
  • An opportunity to complete a credential and masters in five quarters

In our Teacher Education Program you will:

  • Explore effective methods for teaching English learners, who represent over 25% of the K-12 student population in California
  • Learn how to champion educational equity for all students by working closely with mentor teachers and faculty
  • Teach as a student teacher in schools that are ethnically diverse in the local counties of Sacramento, Solano, and Yolo
  • Lead as a skilled teacher who uses classroom-based inquiry to improve student learning
